EXETER, R.I. (WPRI) — One person has died following a crash on I-95 in Exeter late Monday night, according to Rhode Island State Police.

State police say three Abington, Massachusetts, men were driving home from a family weekend in Delaware around 9:30 p.m. when the vehicle lost control, hit a barrier and rolled over.

Several witnesses began performing CPR before first responders arrived but the 38-year-old driver, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two passengers in the vehicle, ages 30 and 61, suffered minor injuries.

The preliminary investigation did not show that weather, alcohol, or speed were factors in the crash, according to state police.

The incident remains under investigation.
