NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) -- Those looking to cool off in the coming days should avoid Camp Grosvenor Beach in North Kingstown.
The Rhode Island Department of Health on Thursday said it recommended closing the beach until further notice after finding high bacteria counts in the water.
When a beach closure is recommended, water quality analysis is conducted by the health department's laboratory or a state-certified laboratory.
The status of a beach may change daily.
You can find the most up-to-date beach information by calling the department's beaches telephone line (401) 222-2751 or by visiting its website.
