CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — The remains of a large whale washed ashore on East Beach in Charlestown over the weekend.

The spectacle of the majestic animal drew onlookers Sunday to the west side of the breach-way.

Eyewitness News has calls into Mystic Aquarium and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management to learn more about the whale.

We’ll continue to update this story both online and on the air.
