JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — A boat at Conanicut Marina in Jamestown was destroyed by fire late Saturday morning.

An Eyewitness News viewer sent in a photo taken from the east side of the island.  It shows the black smoke wafting into the air by the Newport Pell Bridge.

The U.S. Coast Guard at Station Castle Hill said a Jamestown fire boat was on the scene for about 45 minutes fighting the flames.

No one was onboard the boat when the fire started and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
