CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WPRI) — A Taunton man has died while working on a construction project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge.
According to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Anthony Costa Jr., 41, was working at the site Thursday, when material fell on top of him and two other workers.
The DA’s office says the other two workers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The construction company, Walsh Brothers, released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our valued employee, and we will do all that we can to support his family at this time, including respecting their privacy.”
The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
Massachusetts State Police and OSHA are now investigating the incident.
