FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Police are searching for a woman who they believe may have intended to rob a Fall River bank Monday afternoon.

The Fall River Police Department said a white female dressed in black entered the Fall River Municipal Credit Union on Robeson Street around 2 p.m.

Police said upon reaching the teller, the woman said, “Give me a minute” and walked over to the check writing counter, where she wrote a note on a piece of paper.

According to police, the woman then ripped the note up into several pieces and threw it away before walking out of the bank.

Due to the woman’s behavior, police said bank employees took the note from the trash can and pieced it back together. They told police the woman wrote, “Give me the money” on the paper.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident should contact Fall River Police Department Major Crimes Division Detective John McDonald at (508) 324-2796 or call anonymously on the TIPS line at (508) 672-8477.
