FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A Fall River man is accused of dealing drugs outside an elementary school.
Fall River police arrested 59-year-old Jesus Sanchez-Rosario on Feb. 4 after receiving a tip that someone was selling drugs from a van parked outside Letourneau Elementary School on Anthony Street.
According to police, the tipster claimed the white van would arrive at the school between 1-1:30 p.m. The tipster told police people would enter the van, make a quick hand-to-hand transaction, then leave.
Police said a detective went to the school and saw a van park out front.
According to police, the detective then saw several people get out of cars that were parked nearby. Each person got into the van on the passenger’s side, then got out a short time later. Afterward, police said each person went back to their cars and drove off.
Police said the detective then called his supervisor to the scene, who performed a traffic stop on the driver of the van.
According to police, Sanchez-Rosario claimed he was at the school to drive about 14 students home.
Police said they found Sanchez-Rosario was carrying 97 Oxycodone pills for which he did not have a prescription and a large amount of cash.
Sanchez-Rosario was charged with two counts of possession to distribute a Class B drug.
