Police arrest suspects wanted for breaking into unlocked cars

WESTPORT, Mass. (WPRI) — Two people were arrested following a string of car break-ins in town.

According to Westport Police, they’ve received reports of unlocked cars being entered in the area of Briggs Road, East Briggs Road, Gifford Road and Osborn Street.

Police said at least seven cars were broken into. Officers arrested Westport residents Cory St. Pierre, 27, and Jeanna Disanti, 31 in connection with the crimes.

The pair is charged with several counts of breaking and entering into motor vehicles, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest.

St. Pierre posted a $100 cash bail and was released.

Police are urging residents to keep their car doors locked at all times.

The department has recovered some of the stolen items, which include personal banking information.
