TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) —Three men are charged with animal cruelty in Taunton after police said, among other actions, they blew marijuana smoke in the animal's face.
Taunton police said Jared Jorge, 21, Lorenzo Kelley, 20, and Nuno Camara Jr., 18, have been issued summonses to appear in court.
Police said they learned Tuesday morning of a video of the alleged abuse circulating on social media.
According to police, three men are seen in the video taking the goat out of an outdoor pen, putting a chain around its neck and bringing it inside a home. Later, police said the video shows the men cheering and laughing as one of them sits on the animal's back and two blow marijuana smoke in its face.
Police said they located the goat Wednesday at a home on Thrasher Street belonging to one of Camara's relatives.
Animal control took custody of the goat, which police said was expected to be fine.
