Homeowners find preserved wedding dress in crawl space while remodeling

The owners of a Fairhaven home are searching for the owner of a wedding dress they found in a crawl space while they were remodeling.

According to a Facebook post by Marissa Garcia, the dress was preserved in June of 1994 under the last name of Rock.

“At first I wasn’t expecting that to be what it was,” Garcia said. “When I went upstairs, when they called me that they found something, I thought they were just joking, I was honestly just shocked.”

Garcia and her boyfriend were remodeling their home when they found the dress, boxed and perfectly preserved, in a crawl space.

She said she hopes that through her Facebook post, she can get the dress back to its rightful owner.

“I feel like it’s family and a big piece of your life,” Garcia said. “You got married in it, you started a new chapter, so I want to give it back.”

Garcia and her boyfriend reached out to the former homeowners, who said they don’t know who the dress belongs to.
