FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Four people have been hospitalized following a serious crash in Fall River Monday night.

The crash occurred off of Stafford Road at the rear entrance of the Market Basket plaza. Police say one vehicle was exiting the Market Basket plaza when it was struck on Stafford Road.

According to police, two people were trapped in the car that was leaving the plaza, though it’s unclear which of the four were trapped.

According to Fall River Police Sergeant JT Hoar, a 17-year-old male was rushed to the hospital with threatening injuries where he remains in critical condition.

Hoar said a 34-year-old male was transported with serious injuries and two females, ages 34 and 37, were transported to the hospital where they are listed in fair condition.

The 37-year-old female was initially summonsed for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and Hoar said further charges may come once the investigation is complete.

The identities of those injured in the crash have not been released.
