SWANSEA, Mass. (WPRI) — A Swansea home was damaged in a fire Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to Second Street around 8:30 a.m.
When Eyewitness News arrived, smoke was pouring from the home.
Firefighters were pulling siding from the home and putting out hot spots as of 9:25 a.m. and the fire appeared to be under control.
Neighbors said an elderly couple lives in the home and that they made it out safe.
Deputy Chief Michael Patterson said the cold temperatures made the firefighters’ jobs a bit harder.
“It made operations around the house a little bit more difficult, but really no significant impact.” said Patterson.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
