DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Dartmouth Animal Control is searching for a dog’s owner after the canine was left alone on the side of a roadway with just a bag of food.

A woman found the dog, now named “Rosie,” Thursday along Horseneck Road and contacted animal control, according to a post on the agency’s Facebook page.

Dartmouth Animal Control says Rosie is currently under a seven-day mandated state hold, but anyone interested in adopting her can fill out an adoption form at the Humane Society on Ventura Drive.

Anyone with information on the dog’s owner is asked to call (508) 910-1840.
