FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Firefighters were called to battle a fire at a Fall River triple-decker early Monday morning.
The fire broke out on Tremont Street about a half-mile away from the mill building that broke out in flames just after midnight.
The Red Cross was called in to help those living in the home.
Fall River fire chief John Lynch says part of his team was pulled away from the mill fire, along with mutual aid from surrounding towns to help battle this fire.
“We tried to get as many as possible because not only do we have two fires going but we have a large mill fire and in addition to that, we have to man the rest of the city,” Lynch said. “Basically these two fires stripped us of all our forces.”
No word on any injuries, or what may have caused the fire.
