WESTPORT, Mass. (WPRI) — A coach at Westport High School has been placed on leave after allegedly making racially insensitive remarks toward a player, according to Superintendent Gary Reese.

Reese did not identify the coach but said he was informed of the incident last Friday.

The coach has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.

“Our district takes all allegations of this nature seriously. We will conduct a full and thorough review,” Reese said.
