PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) is looking for help in identifying people involved in an alleged dog abuse incident.
The RISPCA obtained a video showing a man picking up the dog by the back of the neck and holding it near his face and chest area for several seconds before throwing him onto what appears to bed or a couch.
“The act depicted is a violation of Rhode Island animal cruelty laws and the suspects would face potential felony charges,” RISPCA President Joe Warzycha said in a statement Monday.
The RISPCA had no further details on the incident but has offered a $500 reward for information.
