Providence VIN station opens doors at new location

Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Providence Vehicle Identification Number or VIN inspection station will be opening its doors at a new location on Monday.

The VIN inspection services will now take place at the Public Safety Complex garage.

Services will be available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 349 West Fountain Street.

Inspection services were relocated after City Council members raised concerns about the building’s condition. Photos of the inside of the old building included stains and broken wall and ceiling debris.

Those looking to access the new VIN station are asked to travel west on Washington Street, from the intersection with Dean Street to access the space. Then, turn right onto Winter Street where there will be a marked lane for vehicles heading to the VIN station.
