PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Providence Public School District partnered with the R.I. Department of Labor and Training to hold a job fair Friday.
The event was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NetworkRI Career Center at 1 Reservoir Ave., Providence.
The district was recruiting for more than 100 teacher positions to work at the elementary, middle and high school levels this fall.
The district is especially looking for candidates in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) content areas, and teachers with English-as-a-Second-Language certification.
High school graduates interested in becoming teacher assistants were also encouraged to attend.
In addition to teaching positions, the district is also looking to hire school nurses, school psychologists, substitute teachers, crossing guards and more.
