PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a commercial building in Providence was damaged in a fire early Wednesday morning.

Officials said the flames broke out just after 4:30 a.m. at 620 Broad St. and caused all of the windows to shatter.

Firefighters were able to make quick work of the fire by cutting a hole in the building’s roof.

No one was inside at the time and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unclear at this time.
