Police: Stolen car involved in crash that injured 3

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police in Providence say a crash that sent three people to the hospital Friday morning involved a stolen car out of Johnston.

The two-car crash happened at the corner of Dorchester and Lowell Avenues around 2 a.m. Police are still investigating the factors around what might have caused the crash.

Eyewitness News crews observed a white car with damage to the front and a black car with damage to the driver’s side and the rear.

Police tell Eyewitness News the driver of a Camry, which they believe to be stolen from Johnston, is a juvenile. He is currently being treated at Hasbro Children’s Hospital for serious injuries.

The juvenile driver had one adult passenger in the car, who police say was transported for minor injuries but has since been released. An adult driver of the other car involved was also released from the hospital.

Police in Providence are now working with detectives in Johnston on the investigation.
