Providence police are investigating after two Johnson & Wales University students said they were attacked by a man whom they had kicked out of a house party early Friday.
Police said they responded around 2 a.m. to a report of a stabbing on Pinehurst Avenue. Officers arrived to find two male victims in need of medical treatment.
One of the victims, identified as Jordan Stone, 22, lives at the address. Stone told police the suspect returned to the home after being kicked out and when he confronted the man on the second floor, the suspect punched him in the face.
Stone said the suspect then struck him on the left side of the head with a baton or nightstick. Stone’s head was swollen and there was a small laceration from the impact of the hit, according to police.
Police said the second victim, identified as Tal Finber, 22, had a laceration above his left eye. Finber told police he became involved when he saw Stone get punched in the face.
Finber said he confronted the suspect near the intersection of Pinehurst Avenue and Chad Brown Street when he noticed the man was holding a knife. Finber said he tried to run away but was caught from behind by the suspect and stabbed in the face.
Police said the suspect is described as a black male with no facial hair and a flat-top hairstyle who was wearing a gray sweatshirt. He was last seen heading towards Eaton Street.
Both victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital and treated for their injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
