Police looking for suspect who stabbed homeless woman

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are looking for a man who they say stabbed a homeless woman while she slept.

The Providence Police Department released surveillance video of the man they believe stabbed a 59-year old woman in the arm while she was sleeping in the pedestrian tunnel between Kennedy Plaza and Waterplace Park.

The victim’s wound was so serious, it required surgery.

Police believe the attack was unprovoked and they’re asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
