PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed in Providence Monday afternoon.
The woman was shot inside a home on Prudence Avenue, according to police.
Providence Police Maj. David Lapatin tells 12 News her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Lapatin confirmed this is the capital city’s first homicide of the year.
Police said they have a suspect in custody, though no charges have been filed.
