Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car on Harold Street in Providence.

It happened around three o’clock Sunday afternoon.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition, according to police. His immediate condition is not known.

Police said the driver was taken into custody. No charges have been filed.
