PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in Providence Tuesday night.
The incident happened on North Main Street just before 10 p.m.
Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez tells 12 News the incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run.
“It’s unfortunate and my heart goes out to the family,” Perez said.
The victim has not yet been identified and it’s unclear whether police are actively searching for the vehicle involved.
