Police ID man critically injured in late-night shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating a late-night shooting that left one man in critical condition.

According to the Providence Police Department, David Pasquale, 24, was shot Wednesday night on Seabury Street.

Police say they responded to the area for a shooting after 10 p.m. Thursday. Investigators say someone in a car fired at the victim.

Pasquale's mother told Providence police a two-door black Honda approached her son and one of the people inside asked him, "Where is my car?" and then shot him.

Pasquale's mother also told police she thought she heard three gunshots and saw her son fall to the ground. 

By the time police arrived, they say Pasquale was being transported to Rhode Island Hospital by a family member.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
