Vandals damage headstones at North Providence cemetery

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — North Providence police are investigating after several headstones were damaged at the cemetery in Stephen Olney Park.

The historic cemetery is the family burial plot of Captain Stephen Olney, who served in the Revolutionary War.

Police posted photos of the damage to the department’s official Facebook page.
