Patriots offensive lineman reads to students in Johnston

Northwest

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — New England Patriots player Ted Karras celebrated the importance of reading with elementary school students in Johnston.

The offensive lineman joined one of the Patriots cheerleaders at the temporary James McGuire Elementary School Thursday morning.

”The reading thing is awesome and just to see the enthusiasm of the kids, you know, meeting a pro football player is pretty special and to be that guy is really fun,” Karras said. “I think I may get more out of it than they do.”

The month of March is National Read Across America Month across the country, which celebrates the birthday of children’s author Dr. Suess.
