No bail for local singer charged with child molestation

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A Johnston singer accused of child molestation is staying locked up, at least for now.

Anthony "Tony" Cerbo, 40, was ordered held without bail following his bail hearing at Kent County District Court Tuesday.

According to police, Cerbo had sexual contact with a 13-year-old boy he met online.

According to court documents, the boy told police it was consensual, but the boy's mother wanted to file a criminal complaint.

A second man - Matthew Heuser, 37, of East Greenwich is also facing charges in the case. Police said Heuser is the one who brought the boy to Cerbo's house on Nov. 19. Prosecutors say Heuser allegedly watched Cerbo and the boy together then molested the boy himself before dropping him off at a doughnut shop just before 4:30 a.m.

According to Cerbo's website, he has performed locally, and in Boston, New York and Las Vegas.
