JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- A man in his early 20's died Friday following a crash in Johnston, police confirm.
The man was riding a motorcycle on Central Avenue when he collided with a car in the area of Dawn Drive, according to police.
The man has not yet been identified.
Police said speed appeared to be a factor but it didn't appear alcohol or drugs were involved.
The crash remains under investigation.
It was Rhode Island's second motorcycle fatality in as many days, after a Boston man was killed in a crash on Roger Williams Way in North Kingstown, and it was the eighth in the state so far this year.
Earlier this week, state police urged drivers to be on the lookout for motorcyclists as we head into the height of bike season, and advised riders to always wear safety gear.
