BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — The Bristol Fire Department is investigating two separate fires within hours of each other Saturday.

Just before 8:30 a.m., crews were called to Bayview Avenue for reports of flames coming from the building. When crews arrived, they found fire coming from the first floor.

Everyone was out of the building at the time and firefighters were quickly able to put out the flames.

According to Bristol Fire Chief Michael DeMello, the house is not a complete loss.

Just hours earlier, they were called to Kingswood Avenue for reports of a fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish those flames, but there was extensive damage to the inside.

DeMello said four to six people were affected by both fires and will need temporary shelter.

The cause of both fires is still under investigation.
