Aquidneck Island Police Parade taking place in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — Today 133 officers who were killed in the line of duty in 2017 are honored in the Aquidneck Island National Police Parade.

The walk started in Middletown, ending at the Newport Police Department.

The event recognize’s that violence continues to grow at an astonishing rate. It is a somber reminder that has police and people join as a community to remember the fallen and to work to overcome these hard facts.
