Woman injured after car rear ends Lincoln rescue

LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a Lincoln rescue was rear-ended by another vehicle Thursday afternoon.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, the rescue was stopped at the intersection of Route 116 and Old River Road.

Police said the rescue was waiting to take a left turn when it was rear-ended. The rescue sustained significant damage from the crash and police said it was towed from the scene.

The woman whose car crashed into the rescue was transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. No rescue personnel were injured in the crash.

The rescue is currently out of service while it undergoes repairs.
