CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a reported shooting sent a teenager to the hospital Friday afternoon.

According to Central Falls Police Chief James Mendonca, the 17-year-old male was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on Sumner Avenue, but he told police he was not shot at that location.

Mendonca said the victim was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is not known at this time.

Detectives are now investigating where the shooting actually took place. No suspects are in custody, according to Mendonca.
