PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are searching for the owner of a dog found emaciated in Pawtucket earlier this week.

According to a post on the Friends of Central Falls Animals Facebook page, the dog was found on Weeden Street by an officer patrolling the area.

The Pawtucket Animal Shelter said they’re trying to determine if the emaciation is due to a health condition or if it is from starvation. The dog is currently receiving care from a veterinarian.

Anyone who recognizes the dog or knows who the dog’s owner is should contact the Pawtucket Animal Shelter at (401) 722-4243.
