Police: Girl, 4, in critical condition after being found unresponsive in hotel pool

Blackstone Valley

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A 4-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after she was found unresponsive in a hotel pool, according to Battalion Chief Dave Cairrao.

Cairrao said firefighters responded to the Hampton Inn on George Street for reports of a possible drowning.

When they arrived on scene, first responders found the girl unconscious and initiated life-saving measures before rushing her to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“Right now, the scene has been turned over to the police so that they can do their side of the investigation,” Cairrao said.

Pawtucket Police Sergeant Christopher Lefort said the girl is in critical condition.
