PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A Pawtucket man is facing charges as the two people he’s accused of stabbing recover at the hospital.
According to city police, Daniel Greene was arrested following the incident Thursday night at a home on Sterry Street.
Upon arriving on scene, police said they found a 24-year-old man outside the home with stab wounds to the face, head, neck, arms and hands. Inside, they found a 52-year-old woman lying on the floor, also suffering from several stab wounds and struggling to breathe.
Officers rendered aid on the victims before a rescue transported them Rhode Island Hospital, where at last check they were in stable condition, police said.
Greene, 54, was located in another room and taken into custody without incident, according to police. He was charged with two counts each of domestic assault with a deadly weapon inside a dwelling and domestic assault with intent to commit a felony.
Police said Greene was taken to the hospital for unrelated medical issues and he’ll be arraigned once he’s released.
His relation to the victims is unknown at this time.
