Man injured after early morning shooting in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — One person was taken to the hospital following a shooting early Friday morning in Pawtucket, according to the police department.

Just before 1 a.m., police were called to the area of Broad and North Union Streets for a report of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found a 32-year-old man outside of the Vibe Lounge suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Pawtucket police called in mutual aid from surrounding departments to help with a crowd that was forming and to secure the crime scene.

Right now, no arrests have been made and the shooting is still under investigation.
