Fire damages vacant building in Central Falls

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) — Officials are investigating after a fire broke out at an old function hall in Central Falls overnight.

The fire occurred around 1 a.m. on Sheridan Street. It started in the back of the building and spread to the roof, according to the Central Falls Battalion Chief.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators say the building has been vacant for at least 20 years.
