BOSTON (WPRI) — Louis Coleman, the Providence man facing charges in the kidnapping death of Jassy Correia, will appear in federal court in Boston on Monday, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Massachusetts.

It will be Coleman’s first court appearance in Massachusetts.

Correia, 23, was last seen alive leaving a nightclub in Boston on Feb. 24.  Her body was found in the trunk of Coleman’s car after he was pulled over and arrested in Delaware four days later.

Coleman, 32, is charged with a single count of kidnapping, resulting in death.  The charge could result in the death penalty or life in prison, should he be convicted.

Last week, Coleman waived his right to have detention and preliminary hearings in the district of Delaware.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says Coleman is scheduled to appear in Boston federal court at 2 p.m. Monday.
