Kidnapping, rape suspect added to Massachusetts ‘Most Wanted’ list

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — Massachusetts State Police have added a man to their list of most wanted fugitives, who they say kidnapped and raped a woman last year.

An investigation conducted by New Bedford detectives suggests Carlos Vizcaino held a woman against her will for hours at knifepoint, sexually and physically assaulting her before she was able to escape his vehicle.

Police said Vizcaino has used several aliases including Luis Castro, Angel Maysonet, Luis Linares and Carlos Vizcaino. He has also used various dates of birth and social security numbers.

According to police, Vizcaino has tattoos on his upper left arm and right shoulder, as well as scars on his forehead. He is reported to be a native of the Dominican Republic but has previously claimed to hail from Puerto Rico.

Police issued a warrant for Vizcaino and charged him with armed kidnapping with sexual assault, rape with threat of bodily injury, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

He also has four other warrants in Massachusetts and a warrant under a different name in a New Hampshire court.
