PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – One person was taken to the hospital early Friday morning after their vehicle struck a pole on Douglas Avenue in Providence just after midnight.

At least two crews were on scene, using hydraulic rescue tools to pry the vehicle open and help free the trapped driver.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash.
