DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Server Ruben Botelho is being credited with saving a man who was choking during one of his dinner shifts at Applebee’s.
The incident happened last Wednesday at the North Dartmouth location.
Ruben, who goes by “RJ,” jumped into action once he noticed the customer was choking. He performed the Heimlich Maneuver on the man until he was able to breathe again.
To thank him for his heroic actions, the restaurant staff rewarded RJ with three bags of Life Savers candy, Visa gift certificates and other various gifts.
