PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Final inauguration celebrations are set for Gov. Gina Raimondo.
The theme is “Make It In Rhode Island.” Raimondo and her husband, Andy Moffit, are hosting Rhode Islanders at the Statehouse for an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. They’re asking people to bring a nonperishable food item for the Rhode Island Food Bank.
Rhode Island restaurants and food and beverage companies will offer tastings and local groups will perform.
The festivities will wrap up with a family skate at the Providence Rink. Skating and skate rentals will be free.
Raimondo was sworn in Tuesday as Rhode Island’s first female governor. She’s celebrating with low-key, free events that are open to the public.
Raimondo has said she wants an inauguration that’s open and inclusive.
