JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A man is facing weapons charges after Johnston police said they seized several guns and ammunition from his apartment Wednesday.

Police said they raided 36-year-old Nicholas Colacone’s home at the Simmons Village Apartments Wednesday afternoon, following an investigation that began with a tip on the department’s Facebook page.

A neighbor told police Colacone was posing with weapons and posting the photos on Facebook.

According to police, officers seized numerous weapons, including:

  • 2 rifles
  • A shotgun
  • 2 revolvers
  • A bulletproof vest
  • Ammunition
  • Knives
  • Clubs
  • Hammers
  • Brass knuckles
  • Illegal drugs

Police said numerous Nazi and white supremacist flags and banners were hanging in the apartment. The bomb squad was also called to the scene when police said they found 18 improvised explosive devices.

Colacone had a felony conviction from 2000, according to police. He was arraigned Thursday for several felonies.

He was held on $50,000 surety bail.
