Girl, 4, hospitalized after being found unresponsive in pool

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A 4-year-old girl remains at Hasbro Children’s Hospital after she was pulled from a pool at the Hampton Inn on George Street Friday night.

Pawtucket firefighters first responded to the hotel for a possible drowning, according to Battalion Chief Dave Cairrao.

When they arrived on scene, first responders found the girl unconscious and initiated life-saving measures before rushing her to the hospital.

“From my understanding is that the family did bring the child out of the pool,” Cairrao said.

Pawtucket Police are now leading the investigation.  As of Saturday morning, the child had been put on a ventilator and was expected to survive, according to Sergeant Christopher Lefort.
