EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire in East Providence.
Crews responded to reports of a fire on the third floor of a home at 657 North Broadway shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday.

Officials said three people were inside the home at the time of the blaze.
Chief Oscar Elmasian of the East Providence Fire Dept. said that two people were transported from the home for observation and no firefighters were injured.
According to the chief, heavy fire was contained to the third floor of the three-family home.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is being investigated by officials.
