NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — FBI agents converged on the Geneva Mills complex in North Providence Thursday morning.
An FBI spokeswoman confirmed agents were conducting court-authorized activity in connection with an ongoing federal investigation. However, beyond that, she declined to comment.
The Target 12 Investigators have learned the search warrant involves a federal investigation into a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang. It is unclear if an arrest has been made.
According to property records, the building is owned by Steven Lancia. The Rhode Island State Police have previously identified Lancia as a member of the gang, and was charged in 2016 on five counts including extortion.
Four of the charges were later dismissed, according to court records, and he pleaded no contest to an amended misdeamenor charge of larceny. He was ordered to pay resitution and stay away from the victim.
There is no indication Lancia is the target of the FBI raid, however.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorneys Office in Rhode Island deferred calls to the FBI.
