“He is transitioning,” the family shared on Facebook, estimating that he has perhaps only a few days left. “Please pray for a pain-free and peaceful transition to heaven.”
The 8-year-old boy’s long bout with cancer became a worldwide phenomenon after his wish to be famous in China went viral. His parents decided to stop cancer treatment in December after a bad checkup revealed cancer cells in his spinal fluid.
“I’m just thinking before I go to heaven to try to be as famous, like as much as I can,” he told Walt Buteau in January.
