CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Pictures of Lauren Ise covered a large poster, while dozens of her loved ones gathered Sunday to remember her life cut short.
The 29-year-old was found dead in her Bay View Avenue apartment last week, in what police say was a tragic case of domestic violence.
Her ex-boyfriend, Michael T. Marrapese, 40, son of the late “Bobo” Marrapese, has been charged with Ise’s murder.
At Sunday’s vigil on the field at Hugh B. Bain Middle School, family and friends shared stories about Lauren, talking about how big her heart was.
“Her big beautiful blue eyes saw the good in everyone. Lauren’s heart was bigger than the sun. She loved her dog and always sought happiness and to someday have a family of her own. Her smile and her compassionate heart are her legacies,” Cheryl Palazzo said.
They said she always wanted to help the underdog and always wanted to do good for people.
“She was a beautiful girl inside and out. And I know she’s watching down on us and would want us to be here and she was a strong strong girl,” Ashley King said.
Lauren’s family and friends are also now working to bring awareness to domestic violence. They said in doing so, they will always carry a piece of her with them for the rest of their lives.
